Bourbon Graham Cracker Candy
I now have a new favorite treat and it's called Bourbon Graham Cracker Candy. And I'm giving you fair warning; this stuff is addicting...you can't have just one! This buttery, crunchy, goodness is the perfect thing to bring to a holiday party, a paranormal investigation or if you're like me, keep it at home to devour in one sitting. Hint: it goes really well with coffee. And luckily for us, the recipe is super easy and can be ready in 20 minutes.
14 large graham cracker rectangles
3/4 cup of chopped pecans
14 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup, plus 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons bourbon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Break each graham cracker rectangle into 4 smaller rectangles and line them up (touching each other) on the baking sheet.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium-high heat.
Add salt and stir constantly, bring it to a full rolling boil.
Stir in bourbon and remove from heat (be careful when adding the bourbon, it can spatter).
Pour the brown sugar mixture evenly over the graham crackers.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Let it cool to room temperature.
Break into pieces and store in airtight container at room temperature.
