Stroll Down Ocean Avenue

On November 13, 1974, six members of the DeFeo family were found shot  to death in their colonial home in Amityville, New York.

These brutal murders were committed by the oldest son, Robert DeFeo, Jr.  His story has changed over the years to why he murdered his family.

Stories have varied from hearing voices and demons to family abuse.  He has even said his sister (one of the victims) helped him murder his family.

A year later, the Lutz family moved into the house and they were well aware of the tragic history.

However, they only lived in the house for 28 days.  They claimed to be terrorized by demonic forces and they were so scared, they left and never returned, leaving all of their possessions behind.

In 1977, a book, “The Amityville Horror: A True Story,” was written to document their horrific experiences.

Did George and Kathy Lutz really encounter paranormal activity or was it all a hoax?  There are many theories and I’m not sure what to think.  But what I do know is a family was brutally murdered, over 35 years ago, in a small picturesque town called Amityville .  And forever, this town, will be known for that horrific crime.

Hi again Mallie. I was just looking at your blog on the amityville horror house, and was curious if you got to go inside or not, and what your experience was being there. My grandparents house is haunted, two people died in it my grandmothers mother died there back in the seventies, her aunt also died there back in the mid 1990′s, and I’ve experienced some weird stuff over the years, both inside and out. You know when land is really haunted you can feel strong energy from a distance away, everything feels fine, and then right when you enter the property you can feel something isn’t right. Anyway thats for another day. Thank you

    Ben

I absolutly love your blog. It’s the kind of blog I’d love to make.

I was convinced that The Amityville Horror house would be in the middle of nowhere, it’s so weird that it’s just a home like everyother home out there. Just makes it a little creepier knowing a kid killed his whole family and the neighbourgs didn’t hear anything…

    Keep Bloggin, it’s all interesting.
