Suffering Saccotash, It’s a Sasquatch
Recently, a book was recommended to me called, “Naked Came the Sasquatch” by John Boston.
I was told this book was hilarious and an easy read. An easy read? Stop right there, you had me at “easy”!
The title is a nod to the late 60′s tawdry novel, “Naked Came the Stranger” written by a group of journalists.
They were convinced if a horrendous book had enough sex in it, it would be a bestseller!
I am happy to say this book is not horrendous nor saturated with sex. Instead, it’s about a small town in Northern California and the colorful characters who live in it.
They are are on the hunt for a monster committing brutal murders. Could these killings be done by a psychopath, a sasquatch or possibly another menacing creature?
This book has suspense and wit, and the characters are lovable. I would recommend this book to everyone.
With sasquatches on the brain, I have some fun facts for you.
SASQUATCH FACTS
1. The state with the highest sasquatch sightings is Washington followed by California, Oregon, Ohio, and Texas.
2. The smell that usually accompanies the sasquatch is a cross between rotten meat/eggs, dirty diapers and a wet dog.
3. Average height is between 7 to 8 feet tall.
4. For more than 400 years, people have claimed sasquatch sightings.
5. Across North America, Indian tribes have more than 60 words for sasquatch.
6. “Bigfoot” was a journalistic term generated in the mid 1900′s during a rash of sightings in Northern California.
7. There are no modern reports of humans being injured or killed by a sasquatch.
8. Other names for a sasquatch are Yeti, Bigfoot, Windigo, Stonish Giants, Woods Devils, Honey Island Swamp Monster and No Necks…just to name a few.
Now, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t end this blog without a silly sasquatch joke, so…….
