I’ll Take Phobias for a Thousand

Phobia:  An anxiety disorder which is characterized by an irrational and extreme fear of simple social situations or simple things.

Everyone has some type of phobia whether you want to admit it or not.  I have taphophobia which means that I’m afraid of being buried alive (must have been from a past life).   I can not sit through a movie where someone has been been pronounced dead, wakes up in the coffin, buried 6 feet underground, with no one around to hear their screams.  Beginning to hyperventilate now just by thinking about it!

I, most definitely, would have been a person back in the 1800′s to purchase a coffin with a bell attached to it just in case I should incorrectly be pronounced dead.  And, would want to make sure you were aware of your error by either the ringing of the bell or by me coming back as a ghost and haunting your arse!  It’s your choice!

I was going to do a top 10 list of the most popular phobias but that’s just not me.  However, doing a top 10 list of odd phobias, well that’s more like it.  So here we go!

  1. Good post.
I’ve been through this situation before. Years ago, I began to have symptoms of the dreaded disease … of a sudden just started to be afraid to be sick away from home, and when I saw, almost not leave the house more. It was a very difficult time. Went through several psychologists and psychiatrists, and they just helped me.
To find a very good, in a nearby town. He even gave me a manner it considers most effective. I started to use some CD’s and read some books of what he called self-hypnosis, and this proved very effective. Today is already on the internet the same package that he referred me (You can see here: http://bit.ly/emetophobia ). It also has enough content on the Internet.
    Well, that’s it! Hugs!
